Rustenburg – All raging fires start as tiny as a spark and that is why it is vital that everyone adheres to the fire ban period.

A fire ban period is when there is a total ban on open-air fires and no person is allowed to make a fire in the open air.

If the fire has already been made, you cannot allow it to continue burning or add fuel to it. This also means no burning of rubbish pits, fire breaks, harvest residue or block burns.

All domestic fires used for preparing meals must be made in a ‘fire safe’ area, not be left unattended and properly extinguished after use.

With fires ravaging all around Rustenburg, we must all adhere to this rule!
