Rustenburg – Keeping our planet clean and safe for all, needs everyone to be on board. Unfortunately, this was not the case in Brink street where someone left fluorescent tubes on the roadside.

The amount of mercury in a fluorescent lamp varies from 3 to 46 mg. Children and the developing foetus are at risk from mercury as it inhibits cell division and migration during their development. The best option is to take advantage of Woolworths Magaliesig who have specially designed disposal bins available as part of a national Good Business Journey. Here the community can dispose of redundant fluorescent tubes CFL light bulbs and batteries responsibly.
