Rustenburg – The Rustenburg Local Municipality (RLM) is setting an example of how to curb the spread of COVID-19 by effectively managing large volumes of people who regularly visit their offices. In what has become a daily routine, residents visiting the main municipality building in Beyers Naudé Drive are thoroughly screened before they enter.

On Monday 8 June, the municipality’s efforts to curb the spread of the pandemic were given a shot in the arm by Standard Bank’s donation of a state-of-the art disinfectant tunnel. Once operational, the tunnel will enhance the municipality’s ability to sanitise a larger number of people entering the main offices to access various municipality services.

“Rustenburg executive mayor councillor Mpho Khunou is grateful towards the bank for its commitment to protecting lives and livelihood,” RLM spokesperson David Magae said.
