Rustenburg – The Paul Bodenstein Park, or affectionately called the ‘Voëltjie Park’ by Rustenburg community members old enough to remember, is in a state.

In an interview with the Platinum Weekly newspaper early October, Thapelo Matebesi, communications manager at Rustenburg Local Municipality (RLM) said: “We will attend to the situation and are amidst a process to hire a security company to monitor and guard the park 24/7.  We believe this will help keep the park clean and keep unwanted elements at bay.”

The park is regularly vandalised. About three weeks ago, many palisades were removed by vandals leaving the park open.
