Rustenburg – On Monday 21 August, the Phokeng K9 Unit confiscated a substantial amount of CAT (Methcathinone).

The K9 unit was on patrol when they spotted a suspicious looking vehicle, a grey Toyota Yaris. After having pulled over the vehicle, they searched it and discovered several packets of CAT (street name Nyana) ready for distribution to the public.

“The police interrogated the 41-year old driver of the vehicle, until he eventually took them to his home at 144 Kruger Street, where they confiscated more of the drug to the value of R80 000- R100 000,” sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi, police spokesperson, said.

The suspect was arrested and his car impounded.
