Rustenburg – Saturday morning, 5 August, a planned clean-up of the Dorpspruit area in Kremetart Avenue took place, where overgrown vegetation and rubble were collected and removed.

The project was initiated and organised by AfriForum’s Charnê Blignaut, AfriForum environmental affairs; Piet Botha, local government liaison of AfriForum and Tiaan Oosthuizen, AfriForum NW district coordinator.

Mpho Khunou, acting unit manager for Waste Management (RLM) said in an interview with the Platinum Weekly newspaper, “This will be an on-going task. The undertaking is to improve the environment and safety aspects of the community.”

AfriForum would like to thank local resident, Harry Rossouw for sponsoring water, Talisman Plant Hire for equipment as well as Crazy Skips. Help from community members and volunteers were also greatly appreciated.
