67 Minutes for the less fortunate
Brits – Corsa Diamond Life is an organisation based in Pretoria. For Mandela Day on 18 July, they changed the life of a less fortunate family living in Lethlabile close to Brits.
The organisation consists of 31 members, who purposely chose to drive Opel Corsa Utilities in order to change lives by performing charitable acts, mostly in old age homes, orphanages, schools and less fortunate families.
“For this project we renovated the family’s house and installed electric wiring around the house and donated clothes, a couch, a television and groceries. We chose this family because one of our members’ girlfriends is from the same village. During a visit he noticed the condition of this house and decided to help, as the house was falling apart and there is no one in the family with a job. There are 11 people staying in a two-bedroom house,” Daniel Morake, chairperson of the club said.
This organisation is also planning to raise funds to the amount of R27 000 to help one of the daughters in the family who is studying medicine at the moment, to pay for her studies. To donate please visit the Facebook page CDL/ Corsa Diamond Life.
