Rustenburg – BUCO Rustenburg donated not only their time, but also 30 bags of food to the Rustenburg SPCA on Tuesday, 18 July 2017 to commemorate Mandela Day.

This charitable effort was greatly appreciated by the SPCA, who published the following words of thanks on Facebook: “We feel so honoured that BUCO Rustenburg chose the Rustenburg SPCA to spend their 67 minutes of community service. They donated a very large amount of dog food and blankets.”

The BUCO team feels strongly about giving back to the community, not just on social occasions, but daily. They specifically chose the SPCA because it is an institution mostly reliant on donations from companies and the public.

“We decided on the SPCA because just like people, animals are also sometimes in dire need of help.

Even more so, because animals cannot speak up when they’re hungry, thirsty, cold or sick. It is our duty as humans to look after those who cannot look after themselves,” Marlise Havenga of BUCO, said.
