Electricity outage on Friday, Rustenburg
Rustenburg – According to Thapelo Matebesi, Rustenburg Local Municipality spokesperson, “Eskom Distribution has requested an emergency outage at the Voltaire Substation on Friday, 28 April 2017, from 12h00 to perform repairs on the 88kV feeder.
HV conductors were stolen during an act of vandalism and Eskom had to make a temporary installation to restore supply to the affected areas. The scope of work for the outage is to string new conductors to normalize the feeder. The estimated time of the outage is 5 hours.
The affected areas will be Sunrise Park; Boitekong Mall; Boitekong Extensions; Paardekraal; Sunrise View; Ramochana Communal and the Correctional Services.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” Matebesi says.
