Rustenburg – Four alleged house robbers were arrested on Friday, 4 and Monday, 7 October in Lethabong and Boitekong respectively following a taskforce operation led by the police’s Rustenburg Cluster Trio Task Team.

In the Platinum Weekly issue of 4 October, it was reported that in the afternoon of Wednesday 2 October, a woman was brutally attacked while working in her home-office on a farm outside Rustenburg.

The woman heard footsteps and on inspection found an unknown number of suspects in her house holding her gardener at gunpoint. The men brutally assaulted the woman, restrained her and the domestic worker, and ransacked the house.

They stole a 303-hunting rifle, cash, cell phones and jewellery before they fled the scene with her husband’s silver BMW motorbike. The victim managed to free herself, call for help and was rushed to hospital.

It was later established that the gardener fled with the alleged robbers.

Members of the task team followed leads and and within four days after the attack, four of the six suspects, aged early twenties to mid-thirties, were arrested. The team managed to recover the 303 rifle, jewellery, mobile phones, some of the stolen cash as well as the motorbike which has been stripped for parts.

The suspects appeared before the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on 9 October.

The Rustenburg cluster commander, major general Arthur Adams, expressed his sincere gratitude to the highly committed Cluster Trio Task Team members.
