Rustenburg – Three teams of ‘master chefs’ from Sibanye Stillwater, Fidelity Security Group and Painttin Rustenburg were given two hours to braai a starter, create a cocktail and then braai a main course at Platinum Square on Saturday 28 September.

Choosing the winners turned out to be a very difficult task for the judging panel, comprising Bert Pretorius from Ocean Basket, Thys Moolman from Vryburgers and Walter Oosthuizen from Outdoor Warehouse.

After carefully tasting what all the contestants had prepared, the Sibanye team’s fruit drink cocktail, stuffed fillet and braai bread with a chocolate caramel banana split won the hearts (and taste buds) of the judges.

Entrants won various prizes such as bluetooth speakers, cooler boxes, cooking pans, pots and other braai equipment.

The musical performances by Willem Botha, Adam and Monique Steyn added to the festivities. A jumping castle and a hilarious performance by ‘Tjiff & Tjaff’ provided endless moments of fun and laughter for the children.

Rugby fans had the opportunity to watch the game thanks to Hi-Fi Corporation personnel, who set up three plasma TV screens.

There was joy and jubilation as the Springboks stormed to a 57 – 3 victory over Namibia in their second match of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
