Aircraft crash: two killed

Hartbeespoort – on Saturday 17 August at approximately 12:00 -midday- two people died after their light aircraft crashed in an area between Hartbeespoort and Akasia. 

At this stage it is believed that the aircraft belongs to a flight school and that the accident happened during flight training.  

ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell told Platinum Weekly that personnel from Search and Rescue were among the first to arrive at the scene. 

“When paramedics arrived, they found the bodies of two men in the wreckage. They showed no signs of life and were declared dead on arrival” he said. 

The names of the victims have not yet been released.
