Rustenburg -A family living near Hekpoort was attacked by four men on Friday 16 August at around 23:00.

The Police confirm that four farm attackers entered the house belonging to a 62-year old man through one of the windows while the three occupants were asleep.

“They demanded the keys to the safe and money, ordering the victims to lie on the floor,” police spokesperson constable Gloria Maswanganye said.

“One of the victims was assaulted with a spanner before being tortured with boiling water and a hot iron” she added.

The robbers then fled the scene with two firearms, a television set, laptops, an iPad, and cellphones.
The victims locked themselves in one of the rooms fearing that the intruders would return. At daybreak they went to a neighbour who then raised the alarm.

The victims were taken to hospital, one was treated for severe burn wounds while the two others were attended to by a doctor.

The police are investigating the incident and warned the community that the four men are armed and dangerous.

Anyone with any information is requested to contact the police on 014 576 9100 or 086 001 011.
