Rustenburg - The North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management will embark on a women’s driving skill competition. This is part of their Women’s month celebrations to help promote road safety for women drivers.

Through this competition, the Department seeks to empower women to play a major role in influencing the attitude and behaviour of motorists, passengers and communities using our roads.

The programme is scheduled to take place in all four Districts of the North West Province. On Friday 30 August, women from Rustenburg and surrounding areas can show off their driving skills from 08:00 at the Rustenburg testing station.

The ‘do’s and don’ts’ of driving will be honed on the day. The North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management offers female drivers an opportunity to showcase their safe driving skills and road safety awareness.

More than 200 women between the ages of 18 and 55 from different sectors of government, state owned entities, private sectors, transport companies and public transport are expected to participate in a competition that has been designed to test five specific skills.
