Rustenburg – Police are still on the lookout for suspects behind the brutal killing of a 42-year old teacher, who was shot in Tlhabane on Tuesday 23 July.

Francina Raphokwe was found murdered near the gate to her house by neighbours who had rushed to the area shortly after they had heard gunshots.

Nothing was taken from Francina, who was killed while waiting for a bus to take her to Rakoko Secondary School in Mabeskraal, and the police are still investigating the motive of the murder.

North West police spokesperson lieutenant colonel Amanda Funani said: “We cannot divulge details such as the type of gun used, at this stage.

The investigation is still underway. We are appealing to anyone with information to contact the police.”

North West member of the executive committee (MEC) for education, Mmaphefo Matsemela, described Francina’s killing as tragic.

“The department has arranged counselling for both learners and teachers at the school,” she said.

We extend our sincerest condolences to the friends, family and colleagues of Mrs Francina Raphokwe.
