Rustenburg – Rustenburg constituency head, Cheryl Phillips; together with ward 16 council candidate, Johan Cronje, hosted the annual Christmas in July for pensioners at Geelhoutpark on Thursday 18 July.

During the event the elderly were treated to a delicious lunch and gifts while Pieter Naude entertained the crowd.

In an interview with Platinum Weekly, Johan said: “It is important that we show the elderly that society cares about them.

We are grateful for the opportunity to host events like this and we enjoyed it just as much as them.”

Owner of Jump4Joy Waseela Samaria, a volunteer at the event said: “You may never know what results may come from your actions.

If you have the ability, then do good things for others, because the heart of a volunteer is never measured in size but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others. No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.”
