North West – Four people died, while seven others sustained serious injuries, during a collision involving three vehicles along the N12 road near Ikageng. The incident occurred on Saturday 29 June at about 19:00. 

“An unconfirmed number of people were flung from the back of the Tata bakkie and landed in the road,” police spokesperson, colonel Adéle Myburgh, said.

The third vehicle, a Kia, is believed to have crashed into bystanders on the road.


“Two males and two females died on the scene while seven others sustained serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital,” she added. 


The collision resulted in the closure of the road for approximately five hours.
