Boitekong/ Rustenburg – Monday 1 July is a day that Mathapelo Thakwane and Nontsikelelo Ngwane are unlikely to forget.

On this day, the two were both presented with bursaries to study at Mind Skill and Character (MSC) Business College for winning the Boitekong Mother’s Day competition, which ran from Monday 6 May to Friday 31 May.

To be eligible to win, shoppers had to spend at least R150 or more at any store or restaurant at Boitekong Mall.

They then had to complete an entry form and submit it together with a letter explaining why their moms deserved to win. The letters of the two women were selected as the best by an independent panel of adjudicators which reviewed all the submitted letters.

Mathapelo was presented with a bursary worth R25,000 which will enable her to study for a 12-month further education and training (FET) certificate in either human resources, marketing, information technology or business administration.

Nontsikelelo received a bursary to the value of R9,000 which will enable her to study for a six-month course in fundamental computing.

The two women, who could not contain their joy, were grateful for the opportunity.

The competition was facilitated by Mustard Seed Relationship Marketing as part of Boitekong Mall’s policy of pouring back into the community.

“We wish the two girls all the best in their studies and we hope their qualifications will help them to realise their dreams,” Mustard Seed representative Elize Magor said.
