Rustenburg – André Grobler started playing rugby at the age of six. His father, who played professionally for the Puma’s, was his greatest inspiration to pursue this sport.

André is now 22 and wears the number 14 jersey of the Newrak Impala rugby team playing fullback or wing.

He is a consultant at Bidvest Steiner and in his free time he likes to play golf or living life to the fullest doing outdoor activities.

In an interview with Platinum Weekly André said: “Balancing work, rugby and a social life can be challenging at times, but I love playing rugby.

My dad instilled the love of the game in me and I am proud to continue this family tradition.

It comes with sacrifices, but if you love what you do, it is all worth it.”

Family is of course André’s biggest priority. “I love my people and spending time with them.”
