Rustenburg – Mobile telephone company Cell C has donated groceries, blankets and gas stoves to Grace Help Centre in Rustenburg as a gesture of goodwill and in line with its corporate social responsibility policies.

Grace Help Centre provides protection and shelter to women and children who have been victims of abuse, rape and neglect.

Cell C’s donation comes after the centre, which is situated in Rustenburg, had appealed for assistance after the North West Department of Social Development gave it the green light to support an additional 50 vulnerable children.

“As Cell C, we are proud to be able to give a helping hand as we prescribe to the philosophy of compassion and kindness,” said managing executive for corporate social investment of Cell C, Suzette van der Merwe.

“We hope this donation will allow the centre to continue as a beacon of hope and that Grace Help Centre will be able to take in and care for more victims.”

She commended Grace Help Centre’s wonderful work of providing shelter and counselling to those on the receiving end of these crimes.

Grace Help Centre received the donations from Cell C employee volunteers.
