Rustenburg – LifeLine Rustenburg is an emotional wellness organisation that has been offering services in the Rustenburg and surrounding areas since 1991.

Sometimes you just need to talk to someone about the stresses and strains of modern-day life – someone who is not emotionally involved in your situation. The LifeLine Rustenburg team is there for you, confidentially.

People benefit greatly from the counselling and testing services they offer – free of charge to the public.

LifeLine Rustenburg now needs the support of the community they serve. They are experiencing financial difficulties and are therefore pleading with mining houses, governmental departments, businesses, private companies, organisations as well as the general public to please make a financial donation to help them keep their doors open to render this much needed service.

LifeLine Rustenburg is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO), non-profit organisation (NPO), and public benefit organisation (PBO) community-based organisation with various areas of service to the community namely:

  • Centre services – confidential, anonymous, face-to-face counselling, emotional crisis intervention services, trauma debriefing, non-medical voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) services, life skills and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) education and prevention programmes.
  • Counselling, testing and referral services, through medical mobile units, free of charge.
  • Community counsellor project – providing counselling, awareness and education services to the public health facilities throughout the Bojanala district.
  • Community outreach projects – providing mobile VCT and HIV/AIDS awareness, education, behaviour change and prevention strategies to rural, informal and disadvantaged communities as well as to the youth.
  • Training – providing accredited training in counselling skills, HIV and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), life skills, capacity building and project management.
  • Organisation management – development of strategy and acquisition of funding opportunities.

Visit the centre at 156 Klopper Street, Rustenburg, and talk to one of their highly trained counsellors. They are trained to listen, accept, respect in confidence and without judgment.

LifeLine provides these services in almost all the official languages of South Africa. In these trying times, they are more focused, and the need is greater than ever. Now is the chance to make a possitive difference.

By supporting them, you are also supporting the community, by helping LifeLine to continue its much-needed services by assisting people in their time of need.
