Rustenburg – Two of the three suspects in the horrific murder of the 83 year-old Ella Willemse were arrested by members of the Rustenburg Cluster Task Team on Wednesday, 6 February.


According to police spokesperson captain Elsabé Augoustides, two unemployed males were arrested not far from where the victim lived.

The victim was brutally assaulted on 17 January and suffered multiple skull fractures. As reported in the Platinum Weekly issue of 25 January, she had to undergo an operation to remove a piece of bone, lodged in her brain. On the morning of 24 January, Ella sadly passed away. 


Some of the stolen items were found in the suspects’ possession.The suspects will appear before the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Friday 8 February.


The investigating officer warrant officer Jannie van der Walt and other members of the Cluster Task Team once again proved their relentless investigative skills, that resulted in these arrests.
