Rustenburg – The Rustenburg Local Municipality (RLM) in partnership with the Railway Safety Regulator (RSR), the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other stakeholders embarked on a national rail safety campaign in Rustenburg from 26 to 30 November.

The national railway safety week took place for the first time in South Africa to intensely promote railway safety. The objective is to reduce collisions and create more awareness, given the statistics on the state of safety report.

RLM believes that much more still needs to be done to educate our communities on safe railway behaviour to curb the unacceptably high levels of fatalities at level crossings.
