Rustenburg – Senior deputy sheriff Alpheus Molefe Nyathela died in a motor vehicle accident on 2 November on the N4 Sun City road, just outside Rustenburg.

Alpheus started as a senior deputy sheriff at the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on 3 June 2005. He was a well-known and loved face in the Rustenburg area and his colleagues often referred to him as “Mayor” because he was so familiar in serving the community of Rustenburg.

He will always be remembered as a respectful, humble person who treated people with dignity.

His memorial service was held on 8 November at the WA van Zyl Hall, to pay last respects to this well-known colleague, friend, father and husband. He will be laid to rest in Soshanguve.

We extend our heartfelt condolence to Alpheus’s family, friends and colleagues.

The late senior deputy sheriff Alpheus Molefe Nyathela.
