Rustenburg - On Friday 31 August, Lonmin was honoured in four of the seven categories at the MineSAFE Conference in Johannesburg.

The awards were bestowed in acknowledgment of its ‘best of the best’ safety, health and environmental performance during the past year. 


The MineSAFE Conference focuses on improving health, safety and environmental impacts in the South  African mining and metallurgy industry. 


Each year, on  the last day of the conference, the top performers in safety, health and environmental performance are awarded. 

“I wish to thank each and every person working at Lonmin - my gratitude goes to our employees, contractors, the Inspectorate, management team, safety teams, and organised labour for making Lonmin proud,” said Lonmin’s chief executive officer (CEO) Ben Magara.
