Rustenburg – This year’s Phenomenal Woman ceremony was held at Hedgehog’s Nest on Saturday 4 August. This highly anticipated annual awards ceremony has become a highlight on Rustenburg’s social calendar.


It has always been the perfect place to catch a first glimpse of the latest glamorous looks to come from all our best designers and fashionistas. The event featured a fashion show with evening gowns and wedding dresses from Lianél Schwartz Couture. 


Nadia Beukes – actress, motivational speaker and book writer – came to tell us about her new book ‘Paaie van Hoop’. 


The very talented singer Willem Botha had the crowd on their toes and singing along to a few of his latest songs, and the dancers of the Jennifer Petersen School of Dance had the crowd in awe.
There were several contenders for the title of Phenomenal Woman 2018 but in the end, it had to be Hetta Havenga! 


Hetta is the mother of two and extremely involved the community. She spearheads the run-walk for life in Rustenburg and under her supervision, it is doing exceptionally well.

During an interview with Platinum Weekly Hetta said, “I never thought I would be chosen as Phenomenal Woman of the Year, but I am so grateful for this honour. I would like to say thank you to all my supporters and my family for their amazing support!” 

Renowned Nadia Beukes joined this year’s Phenomenal Women line-up to talk about her latest book ‘Paaie van Hoop’.
