Kidnapped and ransom demanded, Mooinooi

Mooinooi – Five suspects appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on charges of kidnapping, on Tuesday, 16 January.

The case involves a 59-year old victim who was kidnapped on Saturday, 13 January, from the Tornado Section at Modderspruit. The victim was transported to Luka section in Phokeng. 

In the meantime, the suspects demanded a ransom amount of R90 000. It is alleged that two suspects went to collect the ransom in Marikana on Sunday, 14 January.  Upon arrival in Rustenburg, the two suspects were arrested.

“We are pleased to have made the arrests. The investigation continues,” says major general Modisagarekwe Mosimanegape, Brits cluster commander.
