Rustenburg – On the morning of Tuesday, 5 December, at around 08h45, staff members and cleaners of a local secondary school were held at gunpoint and robbed of their valuables.

A suspect, posing as a parent entered the school and requested admission forms for the new school year. On receiving the forms, the suspect made as if to leave when two more suspects armed with 9mm pistols entered the building.

The three suspects then held the staff at gunpoint and demanded all cash, cell phones and other valuables to be handed over to them. Two staff members were injured during the robbery and have received medical attention.  The suspects fled the scene driving a silver/grey BMW.

“We appeal to the public to be on the lookout for these suspects and urge the community to come forward with any information regarding this crime,” says sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi, police spokesperson.
