Mother and baby killed on N4
Rustenburg – A woman and a baby were killed on Thursday evening, 30 November, and a man was injured when a light motor vehicle crashed into a concrete pillar on the N4 highway before the Mooinooi turnoff outside Rustenburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 22h40 and found that a light motor vehicle had split into two pieces and was found on the side of the road. The bodies of a woman, believed to be in her 30s, and a baby girl, believed to be a year old, was found lying approximately 30 metres away from the light motor vehicle.
A third patient, a man, was found walking around on the scene.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the woman and child had sustained numerous, fatal injuries. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them and they were both officially declared dead on the scene. The man was assessed and found to have sustained only minor injuries. The man was treated for his injuries and was transported to the Brits provincial hospital for further treatment. Investigations continue.
We extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the woman and her baby.
