The end of TKO journey for Dikwena
Rustenburg/ Phokeng – Bloemfontein Celtic secured their spot in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals, after defeating Dikwena 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, 4 November at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
Platinum Stars experienced a loss in the Telkom Knockout quarterfinals when they lost to Bloemfontein Celtics playing at home. With the advantage of scoring first in the 29th minute of the first half through phenomenal striker Bonginkosi Ntuli, Stars was unable to hang on to the lead and pressure from Celtics as Phalane levelled them just ten minutes into the second half with a super strike from a direct free-kick on the edge of the box.
The crowd support at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium was not that appealing, both for the home team and visitors, but the visitors kept on putting pressure up until the 80th minute of the game when Tshegofatso Mabaso gave Jelusic’s troops a winning goal from a good flowing attack that was initiated by Kabelo Mahlasela.
Dikwena face Bloemfontein Celtics again in the Absa Premiership on 21 November. This will give them enough time relook their strategy and point out mistakes.
