Rustenburg – Jamane Moses Mugumo (26) was sentenced by the Rustenburg Regional Court on Tuesday, 17 October, to an effective ten years’ jail term for robbery with aggravating circumstances which occurred at the Kgaswane Mountain Reserve in December 2015.

Mugumo and two of his accomplices, all foreign nationals and armed to the teeth, entered one of the employees’ chalets in the reserve; held them at gunpoint and robbed them of valuables. “The employees were tied with cords and assaulted,” says sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi, police spokesperson. A massive manhunt was launched and Mugumo was found in Matebeleng, close to Kroondal.
