5 Arrested before committing an armed business robbery
Rustenburg/ Brits – The Police arrested five suspects before they were about to commit an armed business robbery in Brits.
“The Rustenburg and Brits Police worked closely together when they arrested the suspects for the illegal possession of firearms on Saturday, 28 October,” says lieutenant colonel Amanda Funani, police spokesperson.
The Rustenburg Police were tipped off and immediately alerted the Brits Police. The suspects, driving a maroon-coloured minibus with Gauteng province registration plates were seen leaving a jewellery shop in Brits. The van was pulled over and searched.
Two firearms and live ammunition were confiscated. The suspects appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 30 October.
The North West provincial commissioner, lieutenant general Baile Motswenyane applauded Rustenburg and Brits Police.
