Rustenburg – “The Police arrested three suspects, aged between 25 and 29, facing charges of illegal possession of copper cable,” says sergeant Kelebogile Moleko, police spokesperson. They appeared before the Bafokeng Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 3 November.  


The trio was arrested in Phokeng when the Police pulled them over for a routine search on Thursday, 2 November, at about 06h00.  


Copper cable weighing 175, 90 kilogram with an estimated street value of R20 000.00 were found wrapped round the suspects’ bodies, underneath their clothes. Other suspected stolen property was also confiscated. 


The North West provincial commissioner, lieutenant general Baile Motswenyane applauded the police for their astuteness that led to the arrest and seizing of copper cable.
