Rustenburg – Bergsig Academy’s under-17 netball team delivered an outstanding performance at the South Africa Schools Netball (SASN) Fast Five tournament, held from 23 to 24 September 2024. The team displayed remarkable skill and tenacity throughout the competition.

On day one, they claimed victories against Hoërskool Framesby with a score of 36–23, Hoërskool Monument with a score of 25–24, and Hoërskool Ben Vorster with a score of 37–35, displaying their dominance on the court.

Day two saw them triumph over Hoërskool Upington with a score of 30–27 before facing a tough defeat against Hoërskool Menlopark with a score of 53–33. However, they bounced back, defeating Hoërskool Durbanville in the quarterfinals with a score of 42–41. In the semi-finals, they fell to Hoërskool Sentraal with a score of 35–21.

In a thrilling third-place final, Bergsig Academy secured a hard-fought win over Hoërskool Montana with a score of 34–31, earning an impressive third-place finish in the tournament.
