
Tip-Off Cracks School Burglary Case in Mooinooi
Platinum Weekly newspaper | Mooinooi – Three teenage suspects have been arrested following a business burglary at a local secondary school in Mooinooi, where electronic equipment valued at more than R100,000 was stolen.
Police in Mooinooi acted on a tip-off about suspected stolen property being sold and traced the suspects to their homes on Wednesday, 28 January 2026. Searches conducted at the residences led to the recovery of tablets, laptops, chargers, calculators, and computer monitors, which were found hidden in various places, including under a bed, inside a washing basket, and in a bag.
The suspects, aged 16 to 17, face charges of business burglary and possession of suspected stolen property. They appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 30 January 2026, and were released into the care of their parents or guardians.
